Over the past few years numerous vendors of IT security technologies have entered the market. Some have simply replicated existing products and manufactured at a cheaper cost whilst others have plugged gaps in the network security infrastructure.

The traditional vendors of Firewalls, AV, Antispam, IDS, and Content Filtering etc have seen margins erode and this has resulted in major acquisition activity within the marketplace. Subsequently this has directly affected the channel's ability to maintain its revenues and profits.
